Icey Aftermath...

We thought we escaped from the freeze with the minor inconvenience of no water for a morning. Turns out the cold temperatures Sunday night seem to have damaged our evaporative cooler. Donna saw the leak yesterday morning, but it wasn't until last night that I had time climb up on the roof and try to shut the water off. It took some fiddling and some unplugging and plugging of random cords (it felt like a Myst puzzle), but the leak finally stopped, and the air conditioning tech that we contacted said we could wait until spring to get everything diagnosed and fixed.

Ice In Our Veins...

Our pipes are frozen. It happened to our friends yesterday, and we still didn't think to take any precautions. I've been outside blow drying the pipes and heating them with towels and boiling water. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone...
